On the Growth and Scale plans, a campaign can send two short emails to each lead as well as the LinkedIn steps. Each email is written for that one person, like the LinkedIn messages, and goes through the same approval as your other messages if you review before sending.
You need a connected mailbox first.
The four modes
Choose the mode in the campaign under Email in this campaign.
| Mode | Order |
|---|---|
| No email | LinkedIn only. |
| Email first | Email 1, then the invite and first message, then email 2 and the LinkedIn reminder. |
| Alongside LinkedIn | Email 1 goes out about a day and a half after the invite, without waiting for it to be accepted. |
| After LinkedIn | Both emails come after the LinkedIn messages. |
The warm-up steps (profile view, like, comment) always come first.
Where email addresses come from
NudgeLink emails only addresses it already has: from a CSV you upload with an email column, from a matching contact in HubSpot, or from the lead's LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn shows a person's email only to their connections, and only if they choose to share it, so for leads found on LinkedIn an address usually appears after they accept your invite, if at all.
So Email first and Alongside LinkedIn suit leads whose addresses come from your list or HubSpot. For leads found on LinkedIn, After LinkedIn works best. Without an address the email step is skipped and the LinkedIn steps carry on.
Which mailbox sends
By default, the mailbox paired with the LinkedIn account that runs the sequence. A campaign can pick a specific mailbox under Send from. Email 2 replies in the same thread as email 1.
When an email step is skipped
An email step is skipped, and the sequence moves on to its next step, when:
- the lead has no email address, or their domain can't receive mail;
- the address bounced before;
- the lead opted out of email;
- your plan doesn't include email outreach;
- there is no mailbox to send from, or a mailbox your plan has paused stays paused for 7 days.
Skipped steps are never charged. A mailbox that has reached its daily limit doesn't skip anything: the step waits a couple of hours.
Replies, opt-out and unsubscribe
- A reply on email or LinkedIn stops the whole sequence, and the reply appears in your Inbox.
- "Not interested" by email also opts the lead out of email, so their remaining email steps are skipped.
- Every email ends with a short line telling the recipient how to opt out, in English, Polish or Russian to match the message, and carries a one-click unsubscribe header that mail apps can show as an Unsubscribe button. Either way, the lead is opted out at once.
- Bounces mark the address as bad, so it isn't used again.
NudgeLink adds only the opt-out line to each email: no signature, company details or postal address. If the rules that apply to you ask for them in commercial email, add them when you review the draft.
Credits
Each email that goes out uses 5 credits, on top of the LinkedIn steps. A skipped email costs nothing. See Plans and limits.
